4 BALL CHAMPIONSHIPS
The completion of the 2 rounds of the 4BBB championships, the winners of this event were Graham BAKER & Wayne TURNER in a countback from Colin BROWN & Graham DOUGLASS with a final score for the 2 rounds of 124. Both pairs had scores of net 63 in the 1st round and a net 61 in the 2nd round, with the winners being decided on a countback based on the last 9 holes.”
The Vets Committee would like to thank all players who played over the 2 rounds and supported this event.
WOODFORD GC – TRIP
RBGC vets are scheduled to travel to Woodford GC on Monday 30 July 2018 to play in the first part of a reciprocal arrangement between the 2 clubs where we play for a perpetual trophy.
A nomination sheet will be available at the raffle table as from Monday 18 June and every Monday thereafter for any player who wishes to nominate to play in this event or alternatively you can contact any committee member to have your name registered.
Players can travel to Woodford by means of their own vehicle or can travel by bus which is provided free of charge. All other relative information about the game can be obtained by reading the nomination sheet at the raffle table.
As current holders of the perpetual trophy and in a endeavour to retain this, it is hoped that a strong showing of support for this trip will prevail. The winner of the trophy is determined by the aggregate of the top 10 scores from each club played at the 2 courses.
NB – All vet players who have nominated to travel to Woodford GC on Monday 30 July, you are advised that the bus will depart from the RBGC clubhouse right on 6.30am and any player who is not on the bus by this time and had their clubs stored aboard the bus will be left behind.
ORMISTON RISE SPONSORED DAY
The first round of the Ormiston Rise & Tranquil Waters sponsored days to be played as a round robin event between the 4 Clubs of: Redland Bay, Carbrook, Meadowbrook (Logan) and Wynnum Golf Clubs is scheduled to be played at Wynnum on Monday 16th July, 2018.
The game to be played is a single stableford and each Club is allowed to have a team of 25 players with the top 10 scores from each Club counting towards their aggregate points for the day. The Club with the highest aggregate points at the end of the 4 rounds gets to win / hold a perpetual trophy donated by the sponsor, with Redland Bay being the current holders and the inaugural winners of this shield.
The Clubs can nominate more than 25 players and any additional players are still eligible to win the prizes on the day. The prizes for the event are split into 3 divisions for Men and 1 division for Ladies with prizes for each division being awarded to the overall winner,2nd and 3rd places respectively, with prizes / vouchers worth $80, $60, $40 respectively in each division. In addition to these, there are also prizes of golf balls for NTP’s on the day plus $280 of finger food available after the game, while waiting for the presentation. The sponsors on occasions may also give gift eg pens etc for any remaining players who have not won a prize on the day.
For any players who are interested in playing in the first round robin games, a nomination sheet displaying all details of the game is now available and can be located at the raffle table on a Monday or they can contact any member of the Vets Committee to have their nomination recorded.
All 4 games are a 8.00am shotgun start, with the cost of the game being $15 for any Club, but the cost of a cart hire will vary Club to Club. Players are also reminded that there is no restrictions as to which games they wish to play. ie they may wish to play only 1 of the 4 games or a combination of the 4.
Players are reminded that the Vets Committee will be holding the next free sausage sizzle on the deck following the completion of the game of the shot gun start for the 4 Season Medal being played on Monday 23 July.
